Interesting Situation

So tonight we went to the temple and we just happened to be there at the same time that My old FHE brother from an out of state College 10 years ago was there! What a surprise! He's the last person that I would have imagined here! He was my FHE brother for a semester and then left for a mission. I never expected to see him again. He was there with his wife, we introduced our spouses and briefly caught up. We found out that they live not even 15 minutes away from us. We talked about favorite pass times and children and years of marriage and so on, and then the peculiar thing happened. Our conversation came to a close and we agreed that it was nice to see each other again and they..... left. They left. I watched them walk out the door. Possibly never to be seen again. Even though we live so close and have a very unlikely opportunity to be friends, we both mutually, non verbally, basically decided that neither party cared if we saw each other again. There was no exchange of numbers, or "let's get togethers" just a passing.... see ya in the next life.... While I am not sorrowing over this, if I had wanted to see them again, I would have made proper arrangements I just find it interesting. Interesting how people come and go in your life, and sometimes by chance they appear again here and there to be let go again. It just isn't me! To let friends pass in and out of my life. I guess for me when life is full of friends it's full of meaning and fun. I'm not one to let fun pass me by, but tonight I did. It's not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. I just hope that maybe in the next life Friends ties and connections won't come and go, but will be kept forever.
